They are crooked. Need to be indicted

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am slowly trying to pay off past credit accounts. I know 2 of 2 are charged off.

Resurgent is handling Credit One. I am on a fixed income for disability for life. I sent Resurgent a check on May 1, 2024 for $40. They deposited it on May 6, 2024.

Resurgent is saying that they have not received any payment from me since March 2023. Another lie. Credit Control now is handling Resurgent/Credit One, my account. I have called both companies and have sent to both of them a copy of the check, front & back from the bank.

Certified mail with a tracking number. Still Resurgent is saying that I still owe them $130 and not the correct amount of $90.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This company works with at least 2 other collection agencies. LVNV and TrueAccord.

Trying to collect on an invaild debt supposedly originating from Providian National Bank which closed 18 years ago.

Never had an account with this bank

Their letters even state the debt is too old to take to court or report to a credit bureau.

Will not address dispute or provide legal vaildation.

Sorry a statement written by your business with incomplete account numbers is not acceptable or legal.

How is this company and their associates allowed to remain in business ??

Harrassment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

It's this debt collector called LVNV Funding LLC hired two different companies to collect a debt from me stating that I owe one credit card company $ 1,741.32 and another one $1,326.95 so last year a law firm by the name Kohn sent me a summon that I had to go file it to get a court date, so I can be sued which I did and was giving a court date 05/24/2023, so I sent the certified letter to Kohn Law Firm to send me proof of the debt which they did it's called a validation letter I thought was the end since I had a court date. Next thing I know I get a letter from Resurgent Capital Services stating the work for LVNV the same company that hired Kohn, so I replied asking for proof, so they sent me a validation letter.

Instead of Resurgent sending me a summons so that I could do like I did with the other one, so I assumed their strategy was tonier to see if how much Kohn would get then they could go from there, but instead they're starting sending me automated copies of the same validation letter every week, so I sent them a cease and desists letter for them to stop sending me those letters especially because one of the letter they were sending every week is the one I have a court date now how they are able to do that since it was Kohn Law Firm they sent me that letter but instead of them stopping they started sending me two letters a week instead of the one, so I sent several more certified letters which they chose to ignore so then I started sending them emails asking them to stop sending those automated letters because all the letters I got I made copies and gave them to my neighbor to used as lining for his cat cage they still ignored the emails and continue to send the letter, so I Google to find out if I could sue but was told I can only sue if they were calling me I said why have me write a cease and desists letter if they could ignore it, so I Google again this time I found some information about what is exempt turns out if my only income is from Social Security that my SSI check is exempt, but apparently it meant nothing to Resurgent because the letters continue, so I thought maybe they didn't believe m,soI sent them a copy of my allotment but that meant nothing they still kept sending the letters then I sent them a copy of what I pay in monthly bills which shows my bills outweigh my monthly allotment and that still didn't stop the letters .

I have to assume that they think if they keep the pressure on that I will get frustrated and settle for a debt they have yet to prove is mine because of the stress my doctor had to increase my pills I take for my bipolar and high blood pressure but not for my diabetes and RH , I don't care what they send my way there's no way I'm going to settle out of court the burden of proof is on them and by some chance they might be able to garnished my check after bills and my med for all my illness there's literally nothing left I just had my phone service terminated had to get a government phone cable gone and now a 411 dollars out of pocket bill is added to what I can't pay for the dentist maybe LVNV Funding can buy that debt when it becomes available, I sent them back all the summary part of the letters that they keep sending me not before I copy them and each time they send me a automated letter I'm going to start coping them and sending them back to them to see how they like a taste of their own strategy.I have to say they did miss week before last sending me my two letters I got worried and sent an email asking what's going on, I know you're not done with me yet. I was told that maybe I should ask the State's Attorney office what I can do to stop these crooks that trying to intimidate me into settling for a debt they haven't proven is mind also I'm going to write a letter to a judge because of the circumstances that my case should be dismissed with prejudice

Cons:
  • Have no morals

Preferred solution: I would like them to stop sending me two letters every week because it serves no purpose other than using it to line my neighbors cat cage

I know how to fic it. Pay your bills and they will not sned debt collectors after you.

Stop being a *** bag and pay your bills. They can send as much mail to you as they want.

They can call your cell as much as they want as long as it is 7am to 10 pm depending on state. Again pay your bills and they will not contact you.

thank you for your comment but unless you know the circumstances of why a person can't pay their bills then you really need to asked me instead of assuming you know anything with what happen that made me unable to pay but let me educate you I was in a bad accident that left me unable to walk let a lone work and the person had no insurance and because of this I was unable to work but I tried to make a plan with the company to cancel the card and not charged anymore interest and let me pay it off at that time I owe 350 on one card and 600 on another card but was denied so the 300 went to 1299 and the 600 went to 1700 I'm almost sure if the same thing happen to you did tell me what you would of did not my fault that I was an a accident but I did try to resolve it in 2019 right before the pandemic hit

This is an update

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

These people are relentless I thought with all my certified letters and emails that they would at least stop with the automated letters so far since I posted the complaint I have received 10 more emails, so now it went from 2 or 3 a week to 4 a week apparently they must be upset that their harassment and intimidation tactics not working on me, but I did find out from a lawyer that they are within their rights to keep sending me the same automated letters I think they're doing this just in case I make a claim that I didn't get any letters but what they failed to realize is that it works both ways it will show the judge that they are harassing me because why else would they keep sending a letter that I already have a court date. I decided to do what they're doing each time they send me any automated letters, I copy the summary that proves these are automated letters because it shows second apart.

I refused to let these people harassment break me down to where I want to settle it.

I am going to stand my ground and stand up to these bullies. I understand them wanting money buy I didn't tell them to buy this loan I looked and found out that two people before them had bought my debt, but they can go by it professionally and stop with the tactics it only makes thing worse, but I will update after my court date hopefully things will be in my favor, and they will dismiss the other account

Fraud

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After proving the dept they bought was FRAUD. Capital One closed my account after they refused to correct a fraud charge.

I hurt the employees feels. After not allowing me to pay the charged it off then sold it. Same crime, as this company is a holding company for Capital One. Have already had it marked as a bad collection .

I am turning it in to the DOJ as I am a disabled senior, it falls under the ADA. Capital One closed it, then refused payment.

Charged it off their taxes, then sold it . That is FRAUD.

After Capital One was caught allowing a China company to commit CC fraud and getting caught they closed my accounts even though I was current on my accounts. They then refused me access to my account including all online .

After they CHARGED it off they waited months to pull this. Sold what they refused to allow to collect and now this BS company thinks I will pay them what C1 already refused.

Company sucks

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I've been paying on a debit that was passed to Resurgent Services for almost 10 years. In this time I could never receive one statement (paper, text, email, phone).

I was told that they can't produce them. So I was paying almost $400/month with no knowledge of what I was being charged for or if I was being overcharged. My last payment is this month, which should be around $40. But nobody can tell me what the exact amount is.

Over the years I tried calling dozens of times and could never get to the right department. Most times they couldn't even find me in the system because I no longer have the credit card. I normally would get passed around 4 or 5 times and occasionally get my balance. But this company must be run out of somebody's garage.

The worst customer service I've ever seen.

Does anybody know if they are breaking any laws pertaining to the Fair Credit Reporting Act - being that they can't provide me any proof of payments. How will I prove that the loan has been paid off.

Collecting an unvarifed debt

I have asked Resurgent Capital Services several times, by registered mail, to send me proof that I owe this debt that they are trying to collect from me. All I was sent was info that the acct was opened in my name.

I reported this and the same mail was sent to the Fair Acts in Collecting, and the case was closed.

I want a copy of the original signed contract, which they say they don't have. This has been put on my credit report and has never been listed a being disputed, which it is supposed to be.

Hang up

A woman from this number called me at work and demanded that I give her my date of birth b/c she was calling on a personal matter. I stated that I cannot receive personal calls at work and she should call my cell.

She again demanded my date of birth and I told her that if she was calling on a personal matter she should already have my information.

She then demanded my address and my SSN. I didn't give her any of the info she demanded and she hung up on me.

I filed identity theft with Sheriff Dept. and credit bureaus including IRS.

These people say I am not telling the truth that my identity was not stoled nor used.

I ask for validation and they could not provide-I ask for there ownership of the debts and they did not provide-told me they could not sue for the debt but would leave it on my credit report as collection. Lost and don't know what to do.
